We have the very young & some older folks; families & singles;
farmers & business types; students & teachers
- even the occasional barrister, peddler & sawbones . . .
( kids, . . . ask your grandmother . . she'll 'splain it ),
a real true cross-section of small town America
Our shepherd, teacher, prayer warrior and friend
is Pastor Steve Herman, who has served
our congregation for several years now.
Pastor Steve is a man of deep faith and committment
to his Lord Jesus Christ, his flock - our church family, and his own family.
The Lord blessed him with Saint Carol Sue as his helpmate, wife & a spirit filled family
Pastor Steve is a powerful teacher and brings forth
a spirit -filled message each Sunday morning
that is meant to help you come closer
to Our Lord Jesus Christ and in your daily life
As you can tell, from the description of our congregation (above),
we are a spirit filled community of followers of Jesus Christ
that recognize that we are to spend time studying The Word,
and that we are to be HAPPY
Pastor Steve . . on some Sunday mornings really gets going !
We call those messages "Hermans Sermons"
Pastor Steve reminds of us of three things . . :
1) FREE PARKING There are NO parking meters in Swedeburg
You will find a very casual & friendly congregation of folks
that Love The Lord . . and we're glad to be 'country folk'
Most of us take our weekly bath on Saturday evening;
the guys try to wear a clean pair of jeans or overalls,
plaid shirt or NE shirt - the women may have a new dress

Tom Sawyer & Huck Finn's, great-great-great grandsons of some
of the founders of Swedeburg, got back from their fishing trip
( they were having so much fun, . . thought we'd never get them home )
they made a map for us to share . . . being 2011 and all . . .
they did it today's easy way . . they used Google or something
we're located just about 5.5 miles south of Wahoo NE
. . . on "old HWY 77" as the old timers say . . .
on what they call "CR 17" now . . .
Just a mile south of Hwy 63/66 that comes from Ashland
some landmarks to assist you . .
about a block S of the Hwy 63/66 & CR17 intersection
look to your right - you'll see Doc Hancocks' ski jump
where his kids learned how to ski . . come on South . .
about another 1/2 mile - you'll see the church on the right
REMEMBER . . .
FREE PARKING There are NO parking meters in Swedeburg
. . see their map below:
Swedeburg Covenant Church is where the RED 'A' is . .
don't know how that 'B' got in there . .
Have you noticed . . .
Our website has been
undergoing some changes . . .
We have a TOTALLY new format
We have a new 'Web Host' . . one of those computer geek terms
Grandpa was going to try to launch it . . .
he read those "for Dummies" books again & again
. . . . just had to wait until the boys got
back again from another fishingtrip
Thanks - We hope you like the 'new look !

The president of the Evangelical Covenant Church
shares his message about "who we are":
"Thanks for your interest in the Evangelical Covenant Church.
This movement of more than 800 congregations in the United States and Canada
gathers around the central truth of the Bible: you matter to God.
Set in motion in 1885 by immigrants, today we are a growing, multiethnic,
intergenerational mosaic of churches with ministry partnerships in nearly forty countries.
We join efforts in the hope of seeing even more people engage in a personal relationship
with God through Jesus Christ, across more populations, in a more caring and just world."
Gary B Walter, president of the Evangelical Covenant Church
